Ritovi Terms of Use

These terms are between you and [LEGAL NAME / COMPANY, ADDRESS] (“Ritovi”, “we”). By using the Ritovi app you agree to them. If you don’t agree, please don’t use it.

1. What Ritovi is — and is not

Ritovi reads a food label or looks up a barcode and tells you two things about the protein in the product: how complete the protein is (quality) and how much there is per calorie (density), plus what the main protein source appears to be and some documented food facts (for example that a food is high in fat).

Ritovi provides food information only. It is not medical advice, dietary advice, a diagnosis, or treatment, and it is not a substitute for a doctor, registered dietitian or other qualified professional. It does not tell you what you should eat. Talk to your doctor or dietitian about your own needs, including if you take any medication. Ritovi is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or connected to any pharmaceutical company or medication brand.

2. Accuracy

Readings come from public databases, from text read off a photo by automated systems, and from a scoring method we maintain. Any of these can be wrong or out of date: recipes change, labels differ by country, photos can be misread. Always check the actual package. The “Source” line on each result tells you where the data came from. We work to improve accuracy and welcome corrections (“This result looks wrong”), but we do not guarantee that any reading is correct or complete.

3. Using the app

You may use Ritovi for your own personal, non-commercial purposes. You agree not to: misuse or overload the service, try to bypass its limits or security, scrape it or copy its data in bulk, reverse engineer it, or use it to break the law. We may limit or suspend access to protect the service (for example, a daily limit on label reading).

4. Your content

You own the photos you take. By submitting a photo or feedback you give us a limited right to process it to provide and improve the service (see the Privacy Policy). Don’t submit photos of people, or content you have no right to share.

5. Our content and third-party data

The app, its design, the Ritovi name and logo, and our scoring method belong to us. Product data may come from the USDA Branded Foods Database and Open Food Facts (“Contains information from Open Food Facts, available under the Open Database Licence”). Those datasets belong to their owners and are used under their licences. Brand names shown belong to their owners and appear only to identify products.

6. Paid features

7. Disclaimers

The app is provided “as is” and “as available”. To the fullest extent the law allows, we disclaim all warranties, including fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement, and we do not promise the service will be uninterrupted or error-free.

8. Limits on our liability

To the fullest extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect, incidental or consequential losses, or for any decision you make based on a reading. Our total liability for any claim is limited to [AMOUNT YOU PAID US IN THE LAST 12 MONTHS, OR USD/CHF 50 — LAWYER TO SET]. Nothing here limits liability that cannot be limited by law (for example for intent, gross negligence, or death or injury caused by us).

9. Ending

You can stop using Ritovi at any time by deleting the app. We may suspend or end access if you break these terms or to protect the service.

10. Changes

We may update these terms. If a change is material we’ll tell you in the app or by updating the date above; continuing to use Ritovi after that means you accept it.

11. Governing law and disputes
